Poem: Mindful Mouthful

I used to eat my dinner going at the speed of light,
with stereo a-blaring and newspaper in sight.
But something has happened here.
It's very plain to see.
For now I feel connections as I silently sip my tea.
I used to gulp my dinner with stomach all uptight.
Now I see the world as I savour a single bite.
