And I sing to myself soft lullabies
when I feel I am broken inside
I put my arms around and hold me tight
rocking me tenderly form side to side

I sing to myself songs from the heart
that say you are not alone. I am by your side

I sing to myself songs from the heart
that say you are not alone. I am by your side
And I am not going to leave you my sweet child
I will love till the end, no matter what

If the little me starts to cry
I put her on my lap and say, “That’s fine”
You must have felt so lonely, so fragile
so in need for an answer, care and warmth

I was also a little scared, lost and in doubt
looking for relief out in the dark
but now I see your pain, I understand!
Forgive me my sweet love, my brightest star

Now when I feel the storm about to start
I don’t escape anymore but turn inside
I take my little kid strong by the hand
and whisper: I am here for you, Mum has arrived
