If you’re having trouble with the e-book file, please read the FAQ below before contacting us.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. I subscribed, but didn’t receive an e-book. What should I do next?
A. After confirming your email address, you should have received an email from email@example.com with the subject: “Welcome! Here’s your free e-book from Parallax Press” which includes the download links for the e-book. If not, check your spam folder or the Promotions tab if you’re using Gmail. It’s possible that you’ve subscribed in the past using the same email address and in this case we’d hold off on sending another welcome email. In either case, please let us know if you still can’t find the welcome email by sending an inquiry to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q. Do I need a Kindle / Nook / iPad to read the e-book?
A. No. You can open the e-book files on the appropriate (free) app installed on your device.
Q. I’ve downloaded the files, but I can’t open them! How can I read the files on my device?
A. For smart phone users: The PRC file can be opened by Kindle and the Kindle app, while the EPUB can be opened by iBooks by Apple devices and Google Books app by Android devices. For desktop/laptop users: If you are using an Apple product use the iBook app, on PC use Kindle or Calibre. We do not offer our books in PDF as that is a proprietary format.
Q. I own a Kindle device, but have never used it for e-books that weren’t purchased through Amazon. How do I read your free e-book on my Kindle?
A. If you’re having trouble opening the file on your Kindle device, try this: Download the PRC file and send it as an attachment to your Kindle email address (every Kindle user has a Kindle address, it is in the format of XXXX@Kindle.com and available in the Kindle account settings section on Amazon). This should send the file directly to your Kindle device!
Q. I have an issue not covered here. Can you help me?
A. Yes, we will try. Please contact us at email@example.com. Due to the volume of emails we receive, we ask for your patience. Thank you.
